Could be so much better.

We stayed here 12 nights to visit family who live in the Khukhan area.We had problems booking this hotel as 1 well known on line booking agent were asking an extorninate price,another said children were not allowed!! My wife( thai) finally had to call the hotel direct to book a room..a member of her family then had to go to pay a 1 night deposit of 1,000 odd baht to guarantee the room.Upon arrival at the hotel we were told that the man who had taken our booking had "gone" and that the hotel had no record of the booking we had made or the deposit we had paid!!!! Fortunatly the member of my wife's family had photographed the receipt for the booking as well as the deposit paid and had sent this to my wife's phone.Only upon showing this did the hotel relent and agreed that we had indeed booked a room and paid a deposit..not the best of starts..all very odd.A good friend of ours was travelling with us and had booked a separate room booked through a well known booking site and his booking was honoured.As a matter of interest,we had a look at booking a room at this hotel through this booking site but if you put a child is staying too the hotel says it is full months in advance,which wasn't the case,most rooms were empty,a strange way to conduct business to say the least!!!!
The hotel advertises itself as a resort,which isn't really the case.It's basically a motel with very limited facilities.Despite having space there is no pool,not even a pool or snooker table,just a bar/restaurant/reception area,which is clean and reasonably priced.Also a large hall.The place is pretty clean,staff and manager were nice and helpfull but why the owners of the place don't improve facilities is beyond me.The hotel is on a busy highway situated 7 kms from Khukhan town,there is nothing in the immediate vicinity within walking distance,and no pavements to walk on anyway.The breakfast consisted of 3 dishes..rice,fried rice,and usually rice soup.There was a western breakfast available which consisted of 2 fried eggs,2 small slices of toast,and a hotdog,this cost an additional 120 baht.The restaurant did not cater to western visitors,no western food at all,not even French fries but the thai food we had there was o.k and reasonably priced.The hotel does have a taxi service but by taxi metre standards was expensive..300 or 400 baht into town..does not seem to be any taxi metres in Khukhan so I guess it's a sellers market.The rooms were basic..wifi was free and worked pretty well..we had a problem with the air con one night and were moved to a different room very promptly,the air con was fixed next day.As I mentioned staff and management were very good..minimal English spoken..but why the owners don't market this place more and upgrade the facilities is beyond me.The hotel is situated around 190 kms from Ankor wat in Cambodia,so could really market this place much better with trips to there.

Hey, it's Khukhan

Stop if you must but not good for extended stay. Staff is friendly of course, very little English, laundry service available, rice soup for breakfast and typical lack of plug ins for charging anything. The room was clean (Khukhan clean). Full bathtub with a hand held shower head barely a trickle of water but it was warm. The grounds are clean and there are some unique tree house style rooms but you can see trough the flooring. I believe it was about $20 per night. In the middle of no where (to me) and no food stands within walking distance. But hey it's Khukhan what do you expect? Better than nothing. AC worked well.

Landestypisches, aber gewöhnungsbedürftiges Hotel

Wir hatten dieses Hotel ausgesucht, da es in der Nähe des Wohnortes meiner Freundin lag und wir dort leider keinen Platz hatten. Die kleine Resort steht im wahrsten Sinne des Wortes auf wackeligen Beinen. Die Hütten über den Carports sind auf wackeligen Treppen erreichbar. Die Zimmer sind sehr klein, kein Tisch als Ablage, der Schrank notdürftig zusammen gestellt, der Fussboden ebenfalls marode. Dusche o.k., Bett sauber. Es wird typisches thailändisches Frühstück angeboten, auf Nachfrage auch continental.
