Excellent backpacker hotel in Schaffhausen

It is really a compact friendly backpacker with no nonsense no frills rooms. I was quite late in the night during check-in but the owner was very friendly and accommodative.
I would recommend this place more than others in Schaffhausen.

Cigarette stink

The room of this hostel was fine, but what we found extremely dirty and annoying, was that in the restaurant below us, which belongs to the hostel, was smoking. So we had to sleep and shower in cigarette smell. Really not recommended. Upon entering the restaurant downstairs it smelled like ashtray: (

Basic and clean but noisy

The rooms are basic but clean.
The bathrooms are renovated - this is nice.
What was a bit difficult for me was the noise - our room and many others faced a crowded street - so even with earplugs it was not a good nights sleep. Also the hostel does not offer breakfast.

Costly but it did the job for a night

Very dear for what you get but as others have mentioned this is Switzerland. It was clean enough but seemed expensive for what was offered. The area is nice with plenty to do and we got some good food quite close to the hostel. I was sharing a room with friends but I wouldn't like to come on my own as you may probably end up sharing room with strangers and paying dearly for the pleasure

Staffs were very nice, near the attraction place. There are self-service hot water, tea and coffee for free at 1st floor. Room and bathroom are clean.
A very small room. There is not elevator. Hotel is located far from train station where had to catched bus from train station to hotel.
