Nestled in the south of Sri Lanka, the property is a 4 - hour drive from Bandaranaike International Airport. It is located in Kirinda, a village well-known for its wildlife. Amazing experience of Stay in the wild

The architect has captured the spirit of the wild superbly to the minutest of details with no compromise on the comfort. The cottages/ chalets are great. The staff is very hospitable.
The food was a disappointment as the sea food & meat was not fresh.

Poor Hospitality

I have made a comment in Cinnamon Yala page and I have seen they have 3 pages. Not sure why they had 3 pages. Simply your service is poor and terrible. It shows that you have only local experience which you can’t take it to international standards. Please refer my comment on other page.

Think Twice

We went on a staff trip, for a day out. about 65 pks. staff was friendly, but need to mention the buffet was horrible. It was arranged in the ground area. with sun crows...The menu was Chicken Fried rice, Vege. Noodles, black chicken curry, Fish devil, dhal curry, tempered potato, gotukola sambal, eggplant curry....no plain rice to match the menu. those who were vege no option they had only vege noodels with the country curries. No butter for the buns... Dessert was fruit salad, sogo and vanilla ice cream....
The tea snack was good. with sandwiches, rolls, and a piece of cake
This was our annual staff trip. Every year we have been to several hotels. never experienced such a bad buffet... This menu would have got it from a "Gami Kade"
Very much disappointed ..........
Never expected cinnamon wild Yala ...........
Will never recommend it.....

Place is nice but could do better

For the price we paid, the experience was just average. Hotel is nice and close to nature. We were in the beach chalets. We were told not to walk alone in the evening for our own safety. The beach was rough and not inviting. There was a security office right outside our room and felt lack of privacy even thought this may have been for our own safety again. They didn’t offer any room service due to covid, a logic less understood. The food was served in the buffet by staff and felt awkward as we had to ask for food. The rooms were really small and nothing fancy. I wouldn’t return to this hotel, it’s just not my cup of tea.

From the entrance at Palatupana to the room of the hotel is blissful with wildlife which can never experienced in any other hotel as we experienced.
The location of the hotel is so identical and the architects and the landscape architects of the Cinnamon Group has proven that they has done the justice to the nature. They have proven that this is the most suitable place for pampering on beach, relaxing on beach and to exciting jungle escape in Sri Lanka.
The chalets are designed to give the feeling of jungle chalet feeling which are comfortable and romantic with its appearance. The interiors are designed by alining to the wildlife behavior which improves that you are owned to the jungle. Watching the jungle and listening to the sounds of nature will give a calm and magical experience throughout the day in different perspectives.
The pool is facing to a lake which is located at the side of entrance to the hotel and number of crocodiles, varieties of birds, bunch of deer, wild boars, and buffalos can be seen from the pool site. When you go to the buffet, squirrels are roaming here and there. That felt amazing.
Had a great experience with the naturalists of the hotel and the safari guy of the Jeep at the Safari of Yala. Within the first hour we had just seen several peacocks and bunch of deer and after that we were lucky to catch two leopards, elephants, crocodiles and almost all.
Fully satisfied throughout the journey with the hospitality of the Hotel staff ( specially thankful for Executive Chef Saman and AFOM Mr. Sudath) from the doorstep to the end. They had warmly welcome and served with most delicious and incredible food ever. The staff cared on you in every minute where you go out and very supportive. The every single place is sanitized well.
The staff had arranged a surprised alfresco by remembering that there is nothing romantic than Alfresco under the sparkly night sky.. And it was a unforgettable and wonderful experience for us as a honeymoon couple.
Highly recommend for another stay and hope to feel the magical essence soon!”
