Great stay

The location of hotel is 5 minutes walk from town centre.Very friendly staff happy to help with anything. Very good value for money . Rooms clean tidy very comfortable bed and pillows best nights sleep in long time ! Room serviced every day - bed made rubbish removed fresh towels and tea and coffee items replenished. Is a bar downstairs very reasonably priced . Noise levels were negligible did have a wedding reception on first night was told as soon as I checked in that music will be on but finish at 11.30pm which it did bang on. Breakfast was lovely nice choice tea coffee juice cereal’s yogurt full English Bacon sausage mushroom tomato beans scrambled eggs and hash browns to help yourself plus toast and all for £ 6.00 fabulous value and very tasty. Will definitely be going back highly recommend if you’re in the Cumbria area also train station is 5 minutes walk as is bus station .

Shocking

Checked in a checked out on the same day.. was given room 24. And I have to say it was shocking. A member of staff helped me up the dark stairs case with my bags, as I was on the 2nd floor. The carpets looked like they hadn't been hoovered for days. And different coloured carpets on each floor.
My room. Well.. it was small, with a double bed. The bathroom, was disgusting. Mould in the shower, shower head on the shower tray, and someone's left over gel. Mould around the window and looked like Jack th Lad builder had been in and tried to do a bit of patch up work. The curtains were filthy, and super thin, the furniture looked like it had had a good battering, and the smell was vile. I've never felt so sick. As a young women on her own, I wouldn't recommend this hotel. If you are a contractor, fill ya boots, just don't open your room door opposite mine in your underwear! Seriously I've never in my life checked in and out a hotel, and I've travelled alot.. I really wouldn't recommend to anyone staying. I did speak to the Manager Janet, who was very apologetic,
I have requested a refund.

Friendly hotel.

Staff friendly. Arrived early morning they accommodated us with a spare room early. We had a full English breakfast which was plentiful, well cooked and tasty. This was an extra cost. Bar food fantastic and very generous portions.
Room was dated and did need attention though. was basic but ok.
Ideal for Speedway as short distance away.

Lovely stay

Always pick this place to stay when visiting Workington. Comfy rooms and lovely friendly staff. Breakfast and evening meal always tasty and plentiful and all at an affordable price.

Use this for your reception but I can’t recommend staying there

We held a funeral wake here. I’m going to start with positives. Staff were really friendly and did all they could to help us. The bar area which is used for breakfast was good with a selection of lagers and ciders. The breakfast was self-services and the only complaint would be no option on how eggs are cooked but generally it was good. The wake room and food was very good and absolutely no complaints. Then we get to the room. Oh my days we booked a superior king and boy were we disappointed. Only in Blackpool have I stayed in a worse room and that was rank. We did mention this to reception who offered us another room but unfortunately the damage was done and we left a night early. Our friend who was also booked in decided not to stop. What a huge shame. Bar/staff/funeral service all very good the room 1/10.
