Location is the only good thing.
Very neglected, used to be OK. But it has seriously declined. We were told that the Care Home next door is something to do with the ownership of the "Wimblehurst Hotel" and some rooms are is used by the care workers. The sign states "Licenced Bar & Restaurant" - very mis-leading! There is no bar or restaurant. There is not a reception and breakfast is no longer offered. Ceilings were water stained, handles missing from drawers & wardrobes, missing lamp shades etc. etc.. We won't be returning.

Beware no Breakfast
The bed was comfortable and the sheets were clean although my room (4) was at the front of the house. It was very quiet
However, my room and my friend’s (3) needs a good clean and some TLC
The skirting boards would stick with dust, the bathroom light pull was very dirty, the rubbish bin was very rusty, the shower didn’t work and one of the handles was missing off the wardrobe door
It was advertised as B&B, but it was only B as there was no breakfast On on the first morning when we went to look for to look
for breakfast we couldn’t find any members of staff so eventually we rang the front doorbell One of the doors in the hotel opened and a man in a dressing gown told us they didn’t do breakfast and shut the door
We are two Ladies nearer to 80 than 70 so this was a bit of a blow as we had to be able to conference within the hour
We managed to find the local transport café where we had bacon butter and a cup of tea for £3.95 I think this should be reimbursed to us by the hotel as they didn’t provide the breakfast they advertised
As we were leaving, we coincidentally came across a lady member of staff who offered to carry our suitcase which was good
I have submitted a review to the hotel, but it doesn’t seem to have been uploaded
We would not recommend this hotel

OLD AND DATED
Old and dated. No staff to help at all, room door looked like it had been kicked in and badly repaired. Curtains not hanging well and didn’t actually fit the windows. Bathroom tiny and shower useless. No dining room, bar or breakfast. AVOID THIS PLACE.

Security concerns
The bed was comfortable but we had a really concerning stay. Upon arriving back to the hotel there was a stranger sleeping in the hallway. I looked for hotel staff to help but nobody was available to contact throughout the night. This left us questioning how safe/secure the hotel was.

More like a hostel than a hotel
First the good news.
It's in a great location.
There is free parking on-site, which is why I booked. Budget price for a single room.
The other news.
There is a small reception desk in the porch, which is not staffed. Instead, a notice directs arriving guests to press a bell for attention. The hotel website claims 24 hour reception yet no staff members were to be seen, anywhere, during my stay. On arrival, the bell did summon a lady who briefly showed me to my room and gave me a key, but that was it.
I'm unsure whether the breakfast mentioned on the website is available, as nothing was mentioned on my arrival and there was no information about hotel amenities in my room or in the hallway. I went looking for the bar that evening but there didn't appear to be one. There did not appear to be any communal areas or residents lounge, just some closed up rooms off the hallway.
My room was disappointing. No hand soap in the bathroom, although there were sachets of showel gel. Debris in the shower tray and a cracked bathroom mirror. Dust on the bedroom mirror and a whole inch of dust on the skirting around the bedside cabinet. Only one, rather flat, pillow provided. Water was left in the kettle, which had a PAT testing sticker dated 2022!
The fire safety instructions on the back of the bedroom door were to press the bell down in reception!
I feel like the Hotel Inspector here but come on Wimblehurts Hotel, these things need sorting!
