I recommend Chicama Surf Camp, the owner Victor is great

I stayed at Chicama Surf Camp for nearly 10 days. The location is good as it is close to the end of town near the surf break plus is close to a number of restaurants. The owner, Victor, is great! He gave me great advice about when to do the trip when I e-mailed him in advance of the trip plus he gave me surf tips. If you want to rent surfboards or wetsuits, take surf lessons, or have Victor take you to or pick you up from the airport, Victor will do that. Also, Victor knows the region well and if you want to take a surf trip to other breaks in the region, Victor is a good guide. The Wifi connection is good. The rooms and bed are comfortable, though a bit on the simple side but the price is on the lower side compared to other options. I recommend Chicama Surf Camp!

Clean rooms

Nothing wrong with the two bedrooms: clean and bright. The welcome is friendly but the place itself is not ultra friendly and I think it is really possible to find better.
Another point.. surfs and combis are frankly more expensive than in town!

A very cozy and welcoming place to stay in

This place is great, Victor and his family are the best hosts you can ask for.
They took care of everything I needed from great food to local surf knowledge.
Staying with them really makes you feel like a local for a few days.
If you are looking for something different than the Average hostel this is the place!

Great place to learn to surf!

This is a comfortable place to stay and it was nice to be picked up from the airport.
Victor and Fernando are great, welcoming guys and Victor really did a lot to help me get comfortable in the waves since it was my first time surfing.
For those more experienced there are lots of beaches nearby he can drive you to and a few hidden gems quite close.
The people in the town are really friendly as well and I felt safe as a female solo traveller walking around, watching the sunset on the beach etc.
There are a few quirks I guess to the accommodations the first being don’t expect to do laundry in a desert and for the hot water in the shower to be warm just turn the hot all the way on. Make sure you bring surf boots as well since it is rocky!
Overall a great trip I look back on with really fond memories. If you get the chance ask someone to take you up the big mountain right beside town, the view is pretty cool.
