Quiet, genuine human hospitality at its best

Idir, the caretaker was a very calm, genuine and beautiful person. His warmth and charisma was humanly exceptional. He attended all our needs with that kind of acceptance that is rare to find. He even walked with us to a local restaurant...Thanks Idir!! The place is quiet and authentic, not a luxury hotel but a clean, comfortable and sound place to stay in a local part of the town far from tourists. The double bed is large and very comfortable. The breakfast and supper prepared by Idir and his wife were extraordinary, well above what could be expected for the price. I will go back sooner or later!!

In the "real" Sahara

Simple, clean and quiet hotel in the very "center" of the village of Merzouga, overlooking the large dunes. Excellent cuisine, and breakfast in particular is super abundant. Youssef is friendly, discreet, competent and personable. The hotel is always kept very clean and the sand carried by the wind is constantly swept away. In short: for me a place to return to and to recommend.
Nothing important negative: the wifi was a bit "wanky" and not very fast, but nothing serious, on the contrary... Also pay attention to the navigator which can get "lost" in the center of Merzouga, in any case there are few houses and Chez Youssef is easy to find.

We loved it!

Thank you Youssef! We loved our visit to your place! Warm welcome, excellent tour recommendations and tasty cuisine! We stayed one night at the hostel, visited the Sunday market in Rassini and had lunch in Khamlia. Around 5:30 p.m., my partner and I left the village on camels accompanied by Ali and Yassim, two happy nomads! 45-60 minutes later, we admired the sunset over the dunes while the 2 tents were set up and a delicious chicken and vegetable tagine was concocted. Memorable!

A unique experience: 2 nights in Merzouga at Chez Youssef

Chez Youssef is the best choice for visiting the dunes of Merzouga.
The Riad is a wonder that puts you in ancient Morocco.
Spacious, clean rooms full of characteristic details.
Youssef is a true Berber: hospitable, brilliant, professional, full of attention and care.
We did the excursion into the dunes, with two expert guides who allowed us to truly experience the desert.
We camped away from everything.
They prepared a super dinner and breakfast that we were able to enjoy, in complete silence, with only the looming and friendly presence of the desert.
We would like to point out that we were a couple with two local guides.
We saw groups of 5-8 people, with only one guide and a very young one.
Thank you Youssef for everything and thanks to the two wonderful guides.

Just arrived from Youssef.
What a wonderful dive into local hospitality!!
Eeeh we haven't experienced the desert trip with camels yet!!!
I would bet this experience would also be a success... I imagine.
I'll update you tomorrow!
The location alone and Youssef's process and friendliness alone are worth the trip to Morocco!!
