Home away from home

For a first timer in Diani, highly recommended. We arrived earlier than the booking time, and the reception was so quick, professional and friendly. No waiting time, my family and I were settled in a nice cosy fancy house,"they have several depending on the number" and it was so quiet we were the only noisy ones, and so clean everything in place. Close to the beach too, very clean pool, suitable for short and long stays. Looking forward to coming back when the weather is more friendly.

Staff were good. Room lacked mosquito net and couldn't sleep because of mosquitoes.
Disappointed with no curtain on shower window and a cam pointing to the window from outside.

This place does not offer what they advertise. Contact number is not Kenyan. Very poor communication when eventually comtacted. Shared toilet and showeroom - which was unaware of when booking. Room not cleaned during stay and had to request clean towels. Kitchen area poorly maintained. Noisy at times too due to layout.

We will go to Tradewinds Lodge again next time

We ended up at Tradewinds Lodge via Google.. I just read some negative experiences that surprised us, because we just had a very enjoyable week at Tradewinds. Of course, a private toilet and shower in the room is nicer than sharing it with other people, but everything was always neat and clean. We also found the use of the shared kitchen very useful and pleasant. With the low room rates you can not expect all the luxury and that you can also dive into the sea from your terrace..
The staff is very friendly and service oriented and the owner made a committed and friendly impression on us. Maybe those negative experiences contributed to that..that is positive..
The only negative is indeed the noise the monkeys cause on the roof in the morning. Two competing groups had picked our roof to argue with each other. They also stole our bread from the table while we were having breakfast.., was a shock... but hilarious.., and fun to tell at home..
We like to go to Tradewinds Lodge again next time..
