Great location. Close to Takayama station and city center. Clean and practical room. Fabulous breakfast. Washing and drying machine on every floor (cheap and effective)

Very good central accommodation

We stayed here in two nights in October 2025.
POSITIVE:
The hotel is just a 3-minute walk from the train station, bus terminal and a Family Mart. The old town is about 10 minutes walk, the walking course of the shrines and temples about 15 minutes. There are cafes next door as well as around the corner.
Check-in and check-out was quick and friendly.
Due to the location in a quiet side street we heard no disturbing noises from outside.
The hotel is small. There are only a few rooms on each floor.
The door is open until 8 pm, after which you get access by code.
The decor of our room was discreetly Japanese. The (medium) room size was optimally used by the decor. There was even a couch with a table.
In the small bathroom was a cedar wood tub. The toilet was located in a separate room. Various amenities such as shower gel, shampoo etc. were offered. A good hairdryer and even a curling iron/straightener were included. Everything was very clean.
A luggage rack, slippers, refrigerator, water bottles and kettle were offered.
All lamps were adjustable from the bed.
LESS GOOD:
There were unusually many small light sources from electrical devices that were somewhat disturbing at night. A sleep mask may help.
Even from the bathroom, which cannot be darkened, bright light came into the room in the morning, as the dividing door was made of (opaque) glass.
The shower curtain was too short. Rooms as well as windows got pithy wet while showering.
In the hallway there was a washing machine (see photo). Although it is great to have such an offer on site, if the machine is in the open hallway only 1 meter from the room door then this has a negative effect. As the machine spun, the entire device wobbled at a high volume, so that we, as well as other roommates, fell into the hallway scared.
Room and safe keys were real keys. There were no chip cards or numerical codes. I always feel a little uncomfortable going on a sightseeing tour with real keys.

This a sweet little hotel in a great location, but note that it is really very small, with no lobby or lounge, limited front desk hours and breakfast in a cafe downstairs. Like a b&b, you must tell them when you’d like breakfast the next day, due to limited space. Washer/dryers on most floors. Top floor suite is modest for a “suite,” but has a lovely view of snow capped mountains.

A small boutique hotel that met all our needs. Professional and friendly staff. We booked the executive suite which was a room on its own on the 6th floor and worth the extra cost for its larger space. Enjoyed the wood tub for great soaks after lots of walking.

Lively clean cute hotel. While the rooms weren’t large they were comfortable and nice. Breakfast was great also. Staff was very nice and allowed a late checkout.

According to Takayama City regulations, an accommodation tax will be levied starting October 1, 2025. The tax is charged per person per night based on the accommodation fee. Less than JPY 10,000: JPY 100 per person per night. JPY 10,000 to less than JPY 30,000: JPY 200 per person per night. JPY 30,000 or more: JPY 300 per person per night.
