My wife and I returned to Hotel Bad Ratzes from July 6 to July 20 of this year and, once again, we had confirmation of how special this place is.
Ours is not a simple stay, but a return to a place of the heart: we have been frequenting Bad Ratzes since as far back as 2004 and every time we rediscover that magic that made us fall in love with this enchanted corner of South Tyrol.
Immersed in the Sciliar-Catinaccio Nature Park, at the foot of the Alpe di Siusi, Bad Ratzes is not simply a hotel, but an authentic experience of harmony between nature, wellness, and hospitality. The property is wrapped in a wonderful forest, crossed by the relaxing sound of the stream, and surrounded by trails that invite you to set off directly from the hotel for unforgettable excursions. Every view offers emotions: the mountains of the Sciliar and the Alpe di Siusi frame a landscape that seems to have come out of a fairy tale.
This year, too, our room confirmed itself to be up to expectations: welcoming, quiet, elegant in its simplicity, furnished with natural materials, and perfectly integrated into the style of the place. The attention to detail and the impeccable cleanliness are elements that contribute to making the stay even more pleasant.
A special mention goes to Petra, her children, and the entire staff of Bad Ratzes. Their presence, their passion, and the way they dedicate themselves to guests every day are the true added value of this place. They manage to create a familiar and authentic atmosphere, where professionalism and human warmth meet in a natural way. You feel welcomed not as simple customers, but as welcome guests in a large home. Always available, attentive, and smiling, they know how to anticipate every need with discretion and make every moment of the stay even more special.
The cuisine continues to be one of the hotel's strong points. Every meal is an anticipated and appreciated appointment: quality raw materials, local products, a balance between South Tyrolean tradition and creativity, and great attention to the dietary needs of the guests. Breakfast is a moment of pure pleasure, rich and cared for in every detail; dinner is a refined gastronomic journey; the afternoon snack, after a day spent on the trails of the Sciliar, is a very pleasant treat.
The new wellness area is truly extraordinary: the indoor pool with large windows opening onto the panorama, the heated outdoor pool immersed in the green of the fir trees, the saunas, and the spaces dedicated to relaxation create an environment in which it is natural to find balance and tranquility. At Bad Ratzes, wellness is never a display, but an authentic, elegant experience deeply linked to the territory.
An aspect that makes this hotel even more special is its ability to welcome different realities: it is a perfect place for families, even with four-legged friends, but at the same time, it offers couples the possibility to experience moments of absolute relaxation and intimacy.

Sweet rest in the woods
We appreciated the week's schedule, in particular the extra activities like yoga but especially the evening with Elizabeth the witch, the originality of the program for the kids, and above all the presence of the soccer field that Luca appreciated a lot! Furthermore, it is an excellent idea to offer the voucher saving on daily room cleaning; Luca was able to enjoy a cocktail with friends that he will remember for a long time.
We also liked the friendly relationship that was established with the members of the organization, in particular Carlotta (originally from the Island of Elba), Davide, and Luis.

1 emotion: wow.
There are obviously plenty of great hotels in the world. But Bad Ratzes has something special. I guess it has mostly to do with its unique remote location with a one out of a million view looking at the great Dolomites outdoors. Wow. Next to that, the staff are the 2nd best thing for sure. Special shoutout to our waiter for the week: Davide. Such a great, lovely guy who took care of us and was just amazing with our daughter. Wink, wink ;-) And of course next to that, the food, the facilities, the room, … everything was 10 out of 10. No negative feedback, true story. We’re definitely coming back next year! :)

Excellent hotel with superb hospitality
Thank you very much for fulfilling pretty much all of our wishes! We especially liked that your head chef made it possible for our friends to come for dinner and that we were given a larger table for it. When we wanted to extend our stay by another 2 days, you gave us the choice between an equivalent family room and a suite with a sauna. We were very pleased about that and were happy to take the suite. We were also very pleased that you supported our way of accompanying our daughter, so that we could often be with her in the Murmeltierstube. Thank you also for organizing the swimming course, the horseback riding, and the climbing course for our daughter! Otherwise, we really enjoyed the hospitality and the ambiance of the hotel. The food was always excellent and there was a lot of variety. The yoga classes were also an inspiration for me as a coach who works in the same field. I also really appreciated the flexibility in creating vegan/vegetarian food options for me. By the way, those were the best dishes, which you are welcome to offer more often. Surely they like other guests too. The chambermaids/staff were also very friendly and cleaned our rooms absolutely perfectly. You, Petra, had a solution for everything. Many thanks for this! By far the best hotel I/we have visited. And that even worldwide. We look forward to seeing you again!

Superb place for relax after intense hiking or just a relax well done for creating this please and maintaining it!!
Amazing place full of peace and relaxation in nature. The staff is incredible—very welcoming and warm. The food and wellness area are both excellent. The only pity is that the relaxation area closes a bit early in the evening. It’s a shame because you can't take full advantage of it, especially after a long, intense day of hiking when you finally have some downtime. But I know that there is a reason behind it. Overall, though, it was a super positive experience. This will definitely join my shortlist of places to revisit and recommend to friends and family!
