A really wonderful, relaxing stay
We had a really wonderful stay at Cabu, what a special spot. The cabin was super, nicely decorated, well equipped and comfortable. The beds were a little on the small side (the doubles), and the bunk was quite squeaky, but they were comfortable with lovely bedding. The kitchen was well equipped, though a dishwasher would be a great addition. Tea, coffee, sugar, salt & pepper, washing up liquid, are all provided, as are tea towels and a jcloth. The scrubby thing for dishes isn't great, so if going again I'd bring one of my own. There's also an ice bucket which they will fill at the bar if you ask them to. The toiletries are The Handmade Soap Company and there's shampoo, conditioner, shower gel, hand soap and body lotion.
We rented bikes for a day but it's quite pricey. A half day option would be useful. We also did a boat trip which was enjoyable, and the forest park has some lovely trails for walks and cycles.
The sitooterie area is fabulous. We enjoyed sitting here in the evenings making smores at the fire pit and playing table tennis and giant jenga. Really lovely atmostphere.
The hot tub and sauna was also great. We thorougly enjoyed our visit and look forward to returning!

Cabu by the lakes is fantastic. A total switch off. From the moment you arrive till you leave. There is hot tubs, plunge baths, saunas, Japanese bathing, you can orders drinks before you get into the hot tubs and they will be delivered to you when you get in, and all this is outside in the forrest. You can also book a massage. There is beautiful shop onsite, and as for the bar, WOW WOW.... Amazing... Also kayaking, paddle boarding, motor boat, and fishing all for hire..

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ The Perfect Place to Celebrate a Special Occasion!
We stayed at Cabu by the Lakes to celebrate my 40th birthday, and I honestly can't thank the team enough for making it such an incredible weekend.
From the minute we arrived, everyone made us feel so welcome. The staff genuinely couldn't do enough for us, and nothing was ever too much trouble. It's rare to find such friendly, attentive service, but every single person we met was an absolute credit to Cabu.
The facilities are fantastic—beautifully kept, spotlessly clean, and set in such a peaceful location. It was the perfect place to relax, celebrate, and make memories with family and friends.
A huge thank you to the manager, the assistant manager, and the bar managers for looking after us so well. You could really see how much they care about their guests, and that attitude shines through the whole team. Every member of staff was friendly, professional, and always happy to help with a smile.
My 40th birthday couldn't have been more special, and that's down to the amazing people at Cabu by the Lakes. Thank you for going above and beyond and making our stay one we'll never forget.
We left with wonderful memories and are already talking about our next visit. If you're thinking about staying here, don't hesitate—you won't be disappointed.

Tranquil cabin in the woods.
We recently returned from 4 nights in Cabu. We had a wonderful stay. Having only been open for a year or so, Cabu felt like something of an undiscovered gem but I suspect it will become very well-known in the next few years. Our cabin was nestled idyllically in the beautiful Killykeen Forest. The other cabins were nearby but did not feel intrusively close. The cabin was beautifully styled inside, dog friendly and ergonomically arranged to maximise the space. The kitchen had all the necessary equipment, although no microwave. Our only gripe was the wet room bathroom, though our cabin appeared to be a wheelchair friendly one so this may not be the case in other cabins. We spent our 4 days going for walks in the forest, wandering down to the boathouse and enjoying drinks in the ‘sitooterie’, a large outdoor pergola with a huge wood burner in the centre. You can toast marshmallows over your own fire at the sitooterie and there are a selection of ‘giant’ games like Jenga to keep you and younger guests entertained. There is one complimentary use of the hot tubs and sauna included in hot stay and again it was a lovely experience to be surrounded by woodland while relaxing. The staff are incredibly friendly and very accommodating. A visit to Cabu is costly but in my opinion well worth it. I’d highly recommend a visit and will definitely return in the future.

Great place.
Probably one of my favourite spots on the planet. We have been 3 times in the last 4 or 5 years. It has a real relaxed / retreat vibe. We bring the kids and the dog and do kayak / motorboat. Also walking in forest park. But far and away my favourite is a pint by the fire in the sitootherie.
