Lovely hotel with committed staff

Lovely hotel with a committed staff and large rooms. Very clean & quiet, we paid about £52/night and for a hotel 10 minutes' walk from the City Palace, we regarded that as a good deal.

Extreemly disappointing

Sadly photos of this place do not reflect reality. Location is excellent but … the hotel is not maintained. Bathrooms not clean, curtains stained, upholstery dirty and staff not welcoming. Rooftop bar and terrace not welcoming. Such a shame. The worst place we stayed in during our 1 month trip in India.

I left very early in the morning but they made me a packed breakfast which was substantial. I forgot when I booked to ask for something on the ground level because using the stairs was an awesome task for somebody who is not very good with climbing.

Disappointing

The location is superb and the view from the rooftop terrace is very lovely.
However, of all the places we stayed during our 3 week trip in Rajasthan for us this was the most disappointing. We had much higher expectations based on the photos. In reality, the property felt a little dirty, grubby and unloved. Staff appeared to be disinterested and disengaged. We felt if we asked for anything it was an imposition. A very basic breakfast, minimum was provided. Hard bed.

Can’t beat the location and heritage charm. However it does come at a cost - no hot water, limited food options and amenities. Would recommend but not if your a creature who requires comforts.
