A wonderful stay experience

I traveled to Kashmir solo for a weekend and staying at New world guest house was the best decision I made for this trip.
The place is clean, beautiful and has every facility in a budget price. Rooms are spacious, with attached washrooms. There was a common hall and balcony overlooking garden, which I could use anytime.
The hosts here are wonderful people and went out of their way to make sure I had a comfortable stay. I had the most wonderful time in Kashmir because Mr Bashir introduced me to the right people to explore Srinagar with. He even helped me plan my trip around Srinagar.
I couldn’t have asked for anything more, this was one of my best stay experiences ever. I felt at home for those 3 days. Can’t wait to go back for longer.
Also, the tea and food offered was really good.

Incredible Family Guesthouse

I cannot recommend this place enough. The rooms are large, clean, afforadable, ensuite. There are large welcoming communal spaces throughout. Incredible chai (of many varieties) on offer always. A beautiful garden, a heartwarming family and the most incredible host in the form of Mr Tariq. Along with his chai, he is a bottomless source of information, wisdom, help, generosity and warm familial sentiment. This place also seems to draw in a really interesting and engaged type of traveller. I spent an amazing night with some fellow travellers met at the guesthouse on Tariqs houseboat which was unforgettable. After a couple really negative incidents as I arrived in the city, finding this place made me feel so at ease that I ended up staying almost a week!

Quit lovely place, yet right in the middle

When we first arrived in Srinagar we went to a couple guesthouses, but the disease of the hosts here in Srinagar is the urge to let them take you on a trek or other things that would benefit their own finance.
In the new world guesthouse we never had the feeling we where getting pushed into something we didn't feel like doing. Because of the good vibes we had time to create our own unaltered plans, also the staff and wifi will help you while doing this if necessary. In the morning you can enjoy a lovely tea and for the barbeque lovers, you are on a 3 minute walk of the best meat street in the neighbourhood.
Ow yeah, if this isn't enough the price of the rooms cost less then going for a good meal ;)

A homy Kashmiri Guest House

I stay at New world guest house for 2 nights during my winter holiday in Kashmir and really had a great time there. big room and friendly owner, the give breakfast and nice kashmiri tea, lots of blanket and also electric blaket which can keep u warm during winter that so crazy cold for me, Tariq also borrowing me his Kangri a traditional kashmiri heater. The guest house is walking distance to Dal Lake so you can go anytime there enjoying the beauty and peacefull quite of Dal Lake. Tariq helped me arrange for city tour and to SOnamarg and Pahalgam which unforgetable for me and pickup from airport. would recomend his guest house to my friends who will visit kashmir and I will definetly come back again someday when I visit Kashmir. good luck Tariq :-)

A friend, just a call away!

I am solo traveller and my friend (whom I met on the journey) reached Srinagar from leh at around 10 at morning.. we had a long journey so as to get freshen up we were looking for a place.. that's when I remembered I had the contact number of Mr Tariq (the owner of new world guest house and house boat) which I acquired from trip advisor before my journey! we were standing at middle of nowhere when I called him.. he immediately guided us and even came to rescue us on road.. such a kindness! He then took us to the houseboat as it was nearby.. it was most comfortable moment of the day.. house boat was neat and clean with very affordable charges. It was short but awesome time spent there.. I hope to visit soon!!! :)
