Urgent renovation

If the Welcoming is really nice , very very average comfort.
The rooms are obsolete although the bedding is excellent. But the smells of cold tobacco , the old carpet, the old decoration , the old bathrooms with a low-end mixer , a small shower , very noisy toilet grinders. The absence of electrical outlet in the bathroom. And the sound of footsteps on the stairs (in the shower) makes it urgent to invest.
To refresh. To set up a beautiful decoration. To offer Breton products for breakfast ( Breton butter , pancakes , jam...) rather than commercial cakes or orange juices.
The restaurant right next door is a plus. And the proximity of the dol with its incredible history dating back to the Nendertanian era is worth a visit.

Too bad...

Well placed hotel with parking.
For the rooms it is the minimum, carpeted floor .. smell of sewer in the toilet (sani-shredder).
The lady of the hotel makes the ashtrays to smoke the butts ....
Plus: well-stocked breakfast.
The gentleman is very friendly.
Restaurant right next door very good.

Need to have your own car to stay here.

If you don't have your own vehicle, do not stay here. Mont-Dol is quite a beautiful, peaceful little town on it's own with a beautiful summit to visit and great vistas to view. However, if you need to go to the nearest town, Dol-de-Bretagne, where the restaurants, train station, shops are to visit, you will need to get a ride since it's about 5 miles away. Tried to get Uber rides but no luck in getting drivers. Asked the woman in the hotel, greeted her in French, and asked if she can kindly call a taxi for us. She replied back to me sounding irritated and that I bothered her: "It is not possible" in English. Thanked her and walked away. Fortunately, we kept a business card from a Uber driver who drove us there from the train station at Dol.

nice hotel for a visit to the “Mont Saint Michel Bay”

We chose the Hotel du Tertre for our visit to the “Mont Saint Michel Bay”.
From the hotel, Mont Saint-Michel, the nature reserve on the coast, Mont Dol with its great view of the bay, as well as Cancale and even St. Malo are quite easy to reach by bike.
The hotel is a simple but clean country inn and is run by a friendly host.
The “classic” French breakfast was billed separately and was - well, a classic French breakfast.
The hotel bar was open late in the afternoon; you can't eat in the hotel, but you can eat during French restaurant hours (until 3 p.m. and from 7 p.m.) in a small restaurant opposite.
We were allowed to eat food we had brought with us at the hotel's own tables on the terrace, and we got the drinks - in classic Bavarian style - from the innkeeper.
The hotel is a good choice for travelers who don't have great demands on luxury and comfort.
