The perfect lodging in Epernay to get intimate with the world of Champagne

We spent three nights at Villa Signolle by Michelle Gonet and loved every minute of it! This charming "bread & Breakfast" has only six rooms and sits right on the Avenue de Champagne, making it the perfect home base for exploring Epernay and the Champagne region.
One of the highlights was starting our adventure with a tasting at the boutique Michele Gonet Champagne house, which was included in our stay. We got to sample six of their delicious Grand Cru champagnes—it was a great introduction to the world of true Champagne!
Our room (the Marie Francine) was spacious, and the bed was very comfortable—just what we needed after busy days of touring and tastings. As a heads-up, it's a "chambre d’hôte," so don't expect daily room service, but we didn’t mind. Every morning, the continental breakfast was a treat: tasty croissants, fresh juice, good coffee, and a few other options to start the day.
One thing to consider: the Marie Francine room is on the third floor, so be prepared to climb some stairs (four flights!). Cliff kindly brought our luggage up for us at check-in, though we handled it ourselves on the way out—it was a workout, but maybe we needed it after all the champagne and pastries!
The staff were very friendly and ready with recommendations. If you’re looking for an intimate, central place with authentic charm (and you don’t mind a bit of stair-climbing), Villa Signolle is a fantastic choice for experiencing Epernay.

Great place on the Avenue de Champagne

Absolutely wonderful place to stay on the Avenue de Champagne. The 5 guest rooms are large and completely modern, while the villa is charming and classically decorated. The staff is one of the reasons it was so pleasant. They are so friendly and can’t do enough for you. Breakfast was offered in a beautiful dining room. You get a free tasting of the wonderful champagnes they produce. Also there are champagnes they leave in the refrigerator in the library that you can enjoy in the evening! I can’t wait to stay here again.

Beautiful mansion on the Avenue of Champagne

We had a delightful stay that was sadly all-too short (only 2 nights). Villa Signolle is a B&B perfectly located on the Avenue of Champagne. We were in easy walking distance of every tasting we did in Epernay, and every restaurant where we ate. Our room was spacious and had a great bathroom. The floors creaked a little, so getting to the bathroom at night without waking my wife was a challenge. The bed had a soft foam topper, and it was the most comfortable bed we slept in the entire trip. The proprietor communicated well ahead of time and was very helpful the entire time we were there. This was a magical place to stay in Champagne, and we wish we had another several days in Epernay and at Villa Signolle.

Fantastic place to stay

Stayed here for 3 nights to explore Epernay. We had a fantastic stay that was certainly different to the norm. There are 5 rooms but we were the boy ones staying, once the house has closed to public tasting you are left alone with the house to yourself and any other people that might be staying. There is a kitchenette with tea and coffee facilities as well as a fridge where bottles of champagne are left for you to enjoy. There is a tasting session included which is very good.
Breakfast is included and there is plenty to set you up for a day tasting champagne. A great place to stay on the Avenue de Champagne that is only a 5 minute walk to the town centre. Thoroughly recommend.
