It wasn't expected.
It is a place with good views very quiet location is great to disconnect, the lady serving very friendly breakfast, but the room we booked called the Gypsy and nothing cheap was not expected
It has a hot tub with an amazing window in front of it. (YOU PAY)
But I have to say that it is very left (I didn't use it) all the taps in the room are full of lime and almost rusty and peeled, the plug of the Jacuzzi seems that they found in the trash the glass glasses one lilac and one blue peeled the glass of the head of the bed all chopped and with black spots, and the large dark gray curtain full of spots. I paid what I ordered but I didn't get what I expected

Perfect for a wedding except for the DJ
We celebrated our wedding there, the setting and the estate are ideal, beautiful sunset, very nice views
However, when you reserve the property, they include the DJ, chosen by them without being able to modify or give a second option (without increasing the budget much).
Everything at our wedding was perfect except the music: We couldn't hear the entrance song to the banquet, we didn't have a wireless microphone so everything had to be done in a corner where the cable reached, we played musical bingo which went very fast and couldn't be heard well either. To top it all off, my boyfriend and I had prepared our wedding dance and in the middle of it he changed the song and no one will return the money we invested. Also, in the middle of the open bar, he asked me to give him the 150 euros that were left to pay when all the suppliers had even told us to wait until Monday because it is understood that it is not a time for those things, and my boyfriend had to give them to him at 6:30 in the morning because he insisted again. In addition, the guests also complained about their treatment.
In summary : The estate is very nice, but if I were to get married again and had to have that DJ (Dani) there, I would probably look for another place that was also nice but that would let me bring the DJ I wanted.
Another drawback is that the rooms do not have a safe and if they give you the money in hand you do not have a safe place to put it if you do not carry it yourself.

Good hotel and attention
The jacuzzi did not work. Apart from that, the hotel is very good and had a very good breakfast. The lady who was there in the morning (Mariana) was very loving and took great care of us despite all the work she had! I wanted to congratulate her

Terrible......nothing else to say.
First impressions said it all for us and the photos verify this.
Decide for yourself.
We booked 3 days but after 3 minutes of arriving we had decided to leave!
A non English speaking lady who was the maid/receptionist was our port of call at this hotel & we tried to inform her we could not stay in the room provided (this also was NOT the one we had asked for when booking).
We retreated to the pool area while we waited to talk to a manager. The pool too was so disappointing we finding it dirty and a very un relaxing area. It obviously had not been cleaned for days/weeks.
The manage spoke to us eventually by phone and we were told no other rooms available at this hotel but he could accommodate us at a sister hotel at an extra cost.
Sadly our minds were made up as if these we standards seen as acceptable then it was NOT for us plus we did not want to splash out more money.
We left the conversation with we think about what the manager had said.
Late evening by now and which we now had to spend Googling for suitable accommodation elsewhere.
We had a terrible night in a room we were NOT comfortable in.
Unclean, stained furniture, hairs on the floor, dust on top of the fridge and to finish us off........a cockroach crawled out of the skirting board!

We had paid 50% upfront and thought it would be only fair for us to forfeit this and hopefully the manager would also be somewhat fair in his evaluation of the situation and not charge us any more for substandard accommodation.

I am sorry you did not enjoy your stay at La Almendra y El Gitano. I was expecting your feedback anyway.
Please bear in mind that you booked a Double Standard Room, and that was exactly what we gave you.
The main problem is that you did not like the venue. I could understand this as there are colors to suit every taste. But there was really nothing too much to really complaint about. Our standards of cleanliness are trully high. For instance, we have never seen a cockroach at La Almendra y El Gitano. Ever. Double check the picture you have sent, because, it has nothing to do with a cockroach. As I told you, it was a poor little cricket that jumped into the room by mistake. Remember, you are in the midst of the Natural Park Cabo de Gata-Nijar, surrounded by nature, in a beautiful landscape.
Nevertheless, I gave you the option to move to our sister hotel, and you said you would think about it...but never answered back. The next thing I know, is that you left the following morning. You never said anything to the receptionist, and you never responded to my offer.
Nothing really happened. You just left, because you did not like the place. This is so unfair, basically for other guests that wished to stay at La Almendra y El Gitano, but couldn´t because there were no rooms available for those days. And by leaving the venue in advance, with no apparent reason, does not entail any refund.
You said you were not interested in a ping-pong conversation, so I complied with your request, knowing you would leave negative feedback unless I give in.

Couldn’t pay me to stay there again.
I found this place to be very run down and unhygienic.
There were specific hours when you could run your jacuzzi which is very limiting.
When we finally could use our jacuzzi, I quickly rinsed it and then filled it up. Everything seemed fine until we turned on the bubbles and all the dirt came to the top. Previous guests hairs, including pubic hairs.
We didn’t go in as it was too disgusting.

I would like to thank you for staying at La Almendra y El Gitano.
In regards of your feedback, you should be fair enough to explain why you were so upset, instead of sharing issues that are totally false and inconsistent.
The reason why you were upset is because you wanted a different room than the one we gave you. You booked a Suite with a Jacuzzi and a balcony, and it was exactly what you got. There are 3 wonderful Suites, but unless you let us know your preferences, it is the hotel who allocates these rooms (pictures of all 3 Suites are shown at our website and at Booking.com)
Not considering your irreverent reaction, we tried our best to show you some other rooms available, and you decided to stay in the Suite we gave you in the first place, and even offered you a bottle of champagne for the inconvenience (which you accepted).
Your stay at La Almendra y El Gitano coincides with an astonishing and surprisingly dusty weather that has severly affected the South of Spain. So, yes it is true you possibly may have found the facade, and the aisles and the surroundings unusually dirty. But we cannot fight nature. What is inside the rooms, is something totally different than what you have described.
What is really sad is how you try to harm a family ran business by trying to damage our image with unfair feedback...only because you thought you were staying in a different room. Totally unfair. By the way, thank you for your equally terrible feedback left at Booking.com.
