Beat Hostel I stayed at so far
Extremely nice and helpful staff, free coffee, tea, and churros all day. Fully equipped kitchen! Rooms were clean, spacious, and AC was working. Amazing roof top with games and great way to meet other travelers! I recommend this to many solo travelers because I made so many friends!!

Wonderful Hostel Undermined by Dirty Air Conditioning
I had a very good stay overall and would recommend this hostel, especially because of its excellent location, friendly staff, welcoming atmosphere, and surprisingly low noise level despite the number of guests. It was easy to get around Madrid on foot and by public transport, and the common areas made it easy to meet people while still allowing for a good night’s sleep.
The room and shared bathrooms were functional and generally in good condition. I also appreciated that towels could be rented for just a few euros. The shower uses a push-button valve that only keeps the water running for a few seconds at a time, which wasn’t ideal, but the water pressure was excellent and the temperature was stable and easy to adjust.
The room cleaning, however, felt quite superficial. It looked tidy, but I think more attention should be given to proper disinfection and sanitization rather than just basic cleaning.
My biggest concern was the air conditioning. I stayed during Madrid’s heat wave, so the AC ran almost continuously. Unfortunately, it was clearly overdue for maintenance: there were thick clusters of dust inside the vents, and the system was blowing dust into the room. The dehumidifier setting also seemed to be running at maximum, which made the air extremely dry. Combined with the dust, this caused me a sore throat and even nosebleeds. Since the air conditioning was controlled by the reception, guests couldn’t adjust or turn it off themselves, which would have been understandable if the system had been properly cleaned. Thankfully, the room had a large window that could be opened to bring in fresh air.
A room of around 10 m² accommodating eight people really needs a clean and well-maintained air conditioning system. Other than this issue, I had a positive experience and would stay here again. I simply hope the management gives more attention to AC maintenance, as it would significantly improve the comfort and health of future guests.

It was a good hostel. The bathrooms were clean. The pod styles of the bunk beds were good for privacy but terrible for air flow. The top bunk was so hot it was difficult to sleep at night.

The hostel has a great vibe and staff were friendly and welcoming from the get-go. Lots of activities for travelers were offered, including game nights and free walking tours. As a family of 4 with teenagers, we had a private room and it was a perfect hub for us to sight see the old town of Madrid. We always felt safe and the front desk staff and common area made the place feel warm... Something I would want for my young traveler child to experience.
We drove a rental car and thankfully the vehicle was small enough to fit in their parkade (a Peugeot 2008). It was such a great amenity to have in downtown Madrid.
Sharing a room of bunk beds was a fun change for us. Our only complaint about the room was a weird smell coming from the shower room drain, but it was clear the cleaning staff were aware of it and did their best to make it better.
Our son ended up losing his wallet there and Ana and staff found it for us when we were already on the road to the next destination. They did not hesitate to help and we had it couriered over to our next stop in Spain. I had zero doubt of their level of integrity and honesty and they proved me correctly even into the days after our stay. We are so thankful for that 🙏

I stayed at this hostel for three nights and had a private room. The hostel organizes activities every day so that people especially solo travellers can socialize with others. The location is very close to the nearest train station and is walking distance to popular museums. Highly recommend this hostel. If I’m back in Madrid, I’ll definitely stay there again.
