Great place to stay

We have just returned from a one week stay at the San Antonio hotel.
We traveled with another couple who are friends. We arrived at the hotel at about midday and check in is not until 2pm.
We were lucky as our room was ready and we got checked in straight away, our friends, not so lucky and only got checked in at 2.30.
This was not a huge problem as we had some food and drinks at the pool bar.
The hotel is a bit dated but the room was fine, large enough with plenty storage space and a digital safe.
There is a small refrigerator in the room also.
A large tv which has lots of British channels.
We found the bed to be very comfy.
Bathroom had a large walk in shower which maintained an even temperature when showering.
Rooms are cleaned daily and towels changed as often as you want.
We had room 4616, the lift was along a long corridor from reception and you had to walk up a few steps before getting to the lift.
The WiFi throughout the hotel is pretty poor, but it did work so long as you can put up with it dropping out regularly.
The highlight for me was the food, it was amazingly good, particularly the evening meals. To cater so well for that number of guests is a testament to how good the catering staff must be.
All the staff I encountered were great.
The guests during our stay varied all ages from very young to not so young.
The floor we were on stayed very quiet the whole week and we never had any disturbance to wake us up.
Have no fear if you’ve booked this hotel, it’s great. Especially if you appreciate quality food.

Great for the over 65s

Stayed in August with family of 4 2 rooms on 3rd floor
.Rooms were clean, few cockroaches some days. Reported shower tray leaking which never got fixed so just soaked up with towels. Hotel is like going back to a 70s bond film and needs a massive renovation if it’s going to attract younger families. Food and drinks were good. Entertainment at night was the worst of any hotels I’ve ver stayed. Easy to get Sunbeds before 9am. Pool area is so dull and lifeless until they have on aqua aerobics for half an hour. No
Music at all around the pool. Older barman at the pool bar was really rude all other staff were great. There was nothing for kids to do in this hotel at all apart from the pool and an old pool table and table tennis. Will not visit again with family maybe wait until I’m 70 years old if the hotel is still open

A great holiday!

We travelled with my parents (who have been coming to the hotel for quite a few years now) and our little 7 month old baby. We really enjoyed our stay. Breakfast and dinner were beautiful and had plenty of choice of food to eat. Plenty of sunbeds and swimming pools were a nice temperature. We paid extra for a superior room with sea view and it was lovely. Local super markets very close to the hotel and a lovely walk every morning beside the sea. Cleaners were all very friendly and made a lovely little play area in our bedroom for our little baby. We would definitely return to the hotel!

Great time

We went last week of July, all inclusive for 1 week, staff were great, hotel very clean, food was very good, standard all inclusive food, lots of choices and there was a part of the restaurant that did specials in the evenings, curry, Chinese, mexican, sushi.Pool area was very clean, plenty of sunbeds. We had a family room which was pretty basic but very clean.Somebody online mentioned a dress code for the evenings,i went in tidy shorts, shirt and a pair of trainers,no problems with that.Using a paper card with your room number on to identify all inclusive was a bit of a pain but you got used to it.The beach right outside is volcanic rock so can't really swim by hotel but there is sand in either direction.Evening entertainment was not great,I'm no Simon Cowell but it could be improved on.I would still go back though, loved it.

A room with a view but not much else!

My partner and I stayed here for 10 days on a half board basis.
We paid for a premium room in a priority location.
Firstly, the sea view from our balcony was stunning and could well be the best on the island.
Secondly, the pools were a very nice temperature in the hot weather and there were plenty of sunbeds.
It goes downhill from there....the hotel is very dated, the landings where the lifts and stairs are have a distinct 70's feel going on....if you've already been, you'll know what I mean.
I failed to see what made our room premium (except for the premium added onto the cost!) It was clean enough and comfortable but it was quite small and in need of an update. The fridge was tiny and not even cold.
The food....oh dear! We ate in the restaurant on our first 3 evenings and both my partner and I became ill from the food. Myself on night one and him on night three. We each lost a full day of our holiday due to not being able to get out of bed with stomach upsets. The food is buffet style and every dish of what should have been hot food that we tried was barely warm. We paid to eat out for the last 7 days.
There were extra charges for the safe and if you wanted a kettle you had to hire one.
We paid our drinks bill on checkout and had been charged for a lot more than we had.
Overall there are more negatives than positives. We would not stay there again....not even for that spectacular view.
