A Truly Magical Stay at Catalonia Born Barcelona
Our stay at Catalonia Born Barcelona was absolutely amazing, and we couldn’t have asked for a better place to begin such a special trip.
We’re travelling through Spain to celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary, so this holiday is incredibly meaningful to us. Unfortunately, our trip got off to a terrible start when the hotel we had originally booked turned out to be mould-infested and horrendous. It looked more like a very poor hostel than the four-star hotel we had been promised.
Thankfully, we found Catalonia Born — and Roger, one of the wonderful members of staff, completely saved the day! He went above and beyond to help us find a suitable room and made such a genuine effort to turn what had started as a very disappointing arrival into a positive experience.
I can honestly say that our five nights at Catalonia Born far exceeded our expectations. From the immaculate and comfortable room, to the amazing buffet breakfast, and most importantly, the incredibly friendly, welcoming and helpful staff, everything was wonderful.
Every interaction with the team made us feel valued and cared for. After the difficult start to our trip, Catalonia Born gave us exactly what we had hoped for — comfort, warmth and a place where we could relax and enjoy the beginning of our anniversary holiday.
A very special thank you to Roger and to the entire team at Catalonia Born for turning things around for us and helping make the beginning of our 30th wedding anniversary trip so memorable and magical.
We are incredibly grateful and would wholeheartedly recommend Catalonia Born to anyone visiting Barcelona. We will certainly remember our stay very fondly. ❤️

Staff were not friendly didn't tel us about the breakfast had to find it ourselves. Air conditioner did not cool, no ice machines had to go to the bar to get ice which didn't last long the ice melted quickly. Our balcony chairs had mold on them. The shower was very slippery and hold bar was missing.

Cute hotel in great neighborhood & good overall location.
Extreme heat was a strain on the hotel a/c, which struggled to keep the room cool.
Rooftop pool a nice thought, if there were only 6 people in the hotel. Pool was small, and not enough chairs for more than 8 or 10 people …. water was not inviting, and the entire rooftop area needed cleaning up.
If you just consider the location abd the staff, it was great!

Good location and good welcome
We had a very pleasant stay and the welcome is perfect! Nevertheless, a major downside!! We extended our stay by one night and the hotel increased the price by 25% even though the receptionist told us the day before that the price would remain unchanged! So be careful to get all information in writing to avoid this kind of inconvenience!

Great location - in the heart of El Born and so close to the Arc.
Staff are so friendly and helpful, big thank you to Mariajose who looked after us so well!
Rooms are immaculate, roomy and so comfortable. We were lucky to get a balcony which we could see the Arc from. No complaints at all, would stay here again in a heartbeat - recommend.
