Made to feel right at home!
Okju's warm personality and accommodation made me extremely happy in the short time I got to spend with her and her family. She is a very talented artist and the Korean breakfast absolutely hit the spot. I had a great sleep in the 2 bed room, and the whole experience at Aark House was very warm and humbling.
I can't recommend enough.

Ringing in the New Year
The hosts are very kind, informative and caring individuals. They provided a clean, comfortable place to call home as well as made a traditional Korean breakfast for guests to enjoy.
The location is very central. About a 10 minute walk to the downtown area as well as the traditional markets. It was a 30 minute walk from the bus terminal. The closest beach is about a 45min jaunt but there are many buses available that can get you there in 10 minutes.
Beds were comfortable and rooms were spacious. Many artists in the family which can be seen throughout the decor of the home.
Beautiful hosts in a beautiful city. Can't wait to go back!

Nice place
She gave advice what to visit and which bus to take to get there. The rooms are very cosy, free wifi everywhere. The rooms are grouped into little appartments with each a small living room, kitchen and bathroom. Bathroom is very clean.
When you reserve the room you have to say what hour you want breakfast. There is also possibility to leave your bag behind if you want to visit the city.

Nice place, challenging to find
The guesthouse is pretty close to bus stops for the beach and for bus terminal.
It's a bit tricky to find and most taxi drivers seem to have difficulties. Make sure you've got the phone number and let the taxi driver call.
Would stay there again.

Komapsumnida Ok Ju!
Comfy dorm with a good little corner kitchen just off the top floor foyer. Bathroom ok though the door didn't seem to lock, which is a recipe for embarrassment. Clean & homely, with family feel to the breakfast (included) cum common room downstairs. WiFi fine.
A handy base for hopping on a 202 bus to the beach or intercity/express station; also for a day trip to beautifully forested Odaesan National Park, which is hardly a patch on dramatic Seoraksan inland from Sokcho to the north, but still offers pleasant lung&leg-stretching hiking, with a couple of interesting Buddhist monasteries.
