Excellent restaurant for Breakfast

Stopped in recently for breakfast with a friend and the meal was great. I had the regular breakfast which includes toast, hash browns, sausage, bacon or ham and 2 eggs. The food comes piping hot and at a reasonable price for its size.
The service is also very good. A nice clean establishment and what you would expect at a top quality truck stop.

Typical truckstop motel

There's nothing fancy about the motel, it's your typical truck stop. It's not overly clean, but it's not overly dirty. Just don't look too closely when you're in the bathroom. The heat works, and the bed was firm but comfortable. They've got a fridge and microwave in the room, which was all I needed. I personally wouldn't stay here unless my company was paying for it, and the class 1 discount make it a decent rate. They've got a restaurant, but I've never eaten there, although it's never looked busy even pre-covid it always looks clean.

Didn’t know it was there

I was surprised to find the motel in the Roadking plaza. There aren’t very many rooms and you have to do your reservations in the store itself.
The rooms are very dated but clean and while I was there it was quiet. I thought since it was at a truck stop you would hear trucks all night but never heard one single truck and I’m a light sleeper. The restaurant is right there and I had a simple burger but it was plenty. If you’re just looking for a place for the night or 2 and not a 5 star place this will work.
At least now I have a place to stay that isn’t out of my price range or too far from anything.

Review for restaurant only

We recently paid a trip to the Roadking to see how it compared to the Blackfoot Truck Stop. In a nutshell - not quite! We didn’t realize that the Road King is a proper travel plaza with a motel, convenience store, showers, wash bays, standalone Tim Hortons and restaurant. We circled the plaza before we found the entrance to J’s Wok and Grill. The restaurant is average sized, with newer furnishings and it was very clean. The restrooms were also very clean. One thing we enjoyed about the restaurant was the peaceful and TV free atmosphere.
Unlike the Blackfoot Truck Stop, the restaurant does not offer an all day breakfast menu. The menu, however, is impressively large, serving Chinese food, Vietnamese food and diner classics. The children’s and seniors menus are the same - just pick coffee or pop depending on the age of the diner :-)
Unfortunately we seemed to have visited on an off night. There was only one server to manage all the tables at dinner time and she was literally run off her feet. There was a moment where she almost lost her balance. Some drink orders were mixed up - but that was OK. The two dishes we ordered took a long time to arrive - I would say easily over half an hour but not quite an hour. We arrived around 6 and left around quarter to eight. My husband ordered chop suey and I had the lemongrass chicken vermicelli bowl after another patron recommended the Vietnamese food. The chop suey was merely steamed vegetables, chicken and sauce. There were no bean sprouts. My vermicelli bowl was quite hearty and came with a giant side of fish sauce and two spring rolls. I couldn’t quite place the flavour of the spring rolls and I didn’t use much fish sauce as there was already a spicy brown sauce of some sort in the bowl. My husband was disappointed that there wasn’t more to his chop suey. It’s possible that the kitchen was having some problems that night.
The server was kind enough to give us a small discount for the wait. Our bill was about $31 including tip. I would try the breakfast menu or one of the more diner type dishes next time. The food was certainly adequate, not amazing, but I have paid more money for worse food.
