Everything I would like to know before staying at the Windsor Cup
The hotel does not have a pool.
I stayed in apartment 1114 on the 11th floor. The room is spacious, with a double bed and a single bed. The decoration is simple and functional. The room was clean, as well as the bathroom, which has good size. Both the sink and shower use a monocommand mixer. The bath had good water pressure, stable temperature and wide box with glass closure.
The floor is laminated, there is a whole body mirror, support bench, panel TV, sockets in the Brazilian and American standards, point to cable network (Ethernet) and electricity network of 127 V. The restaurant offers room service, with soup options and à la carte dishes.
The beds are comfortable for a hotel of this category. The double bed was good and the sheets looked new.
The breakfast is honest, with a good variety of fruits, breads, colds, cakes, hot drinks and juices. I especially liked the raspberry juice. I just felt a lack of clearly identified options for people with dietary restrictions, such as lactose-free milk, vegetable beverages and gluten-free foods.
The point that most bothered me was a constant noise from machines, similar to the operation of engines or external air-conditioning units. I don't know if the sound came from the hotel or from neighboring buildings. I kept the room air conditioning off virtually the entire stay, but the noise remained every night. To get to sleep, I had to use earplugs.
I also felt a lack of sockets near the header to charge the phone. The sockets are next to the TV counter, which forced me to buy an extension. The headboard switches are practically hidden behind the pillows and, because they are exactly at the height of the head, I ended up turning on the lights involuntarily during the dawn as I moved.
The smoke detector lies on the bed and has red LEDs continuously flashing. For most people this will not be a problem, but guests who are more sensitive to light during sleep may prefer to wear a sleep mask. The combination of mask and earbuds was helpful during my stay.
Another detail was the air conditioning of the common areas. The reception and the hallways remained with the air-conditioned quite cold, even with outside temperature around 25 °C.
I would like to thank especially the roommate Roberta, always very helpful, polite, efficient and attentive; to Pedro, the reception, for the differentiated care; to Leonardo, the hotel portier, for the sympathy and cordiality; and to Mr Marcelo, responsible for the reception of the teleentregas on the floor -1, always very kind.
I also leave an important note. While looking for a tele-delivery in the underground, I observed maintenance, cleaning and other plant workers waiting for their shifts in an environment that seemed quite uncomfortable to me. I don't know if there are other rest areas for the staff, but if they don't exist, I believe the hotel should invest in a more comfortable and air-conditioned space for them. Taking care of the well-being of the staff is also investing in the quality of the guest service.
Finally, a tip: during my hosting I noticed that some photos displayed on Google do not seem to match the Windsor Cup. I have seen pictures showing the pool and views to the beach, but this hotel does not have a pool and is located in the street parallel to the Atlantic Avenue, surrounded by tall buildings with no sea views.
Overall, I consider the Windsor Cup a good choice for the cleanliness, the size of the rooms (the backgrounds are larger) and the comfort of the beds, good bath, the breakfast and the service of the staff. With small adjustments related to night noise, bedside sockets, switch position, staff comfort and air conditioning in common areas, the experience can get even better.

The place is quite dated. so it is really a shame. there was a bit of mould in the shower. It could really do with a bit of a refresh.
