Beautiful property, well cared for, with a wonderful and welcoming staff! Fantastic breakfast!

Apart from the location, the staff was wonderful! Guilherme always sought to take care of all our needs and ensuring a quiet and welcoming stay! Keeping the fireplace on until the staff arrives. Breakfast is a separate chapter! Do not fail to taste the breath of the house, the toast Petrópolis with melted cheese, the cake of maracujá! To leave missing and wanting to come back!

For the first time we left frustrated...

For the first time, after so many years visiting the hostel restaurant on Saturdays to enjoy the feijoada, we had a frustrating experience. Although we had made a reservation and arrived on time, we waited more than 40 minutes to be served and, to our surprise / frustration, we received a bean that was not from the beijoada (without much taste / temper) and a little variety / quantity of meats. Clearly the feijoada had ended and, instead of choosing to admit it and propose an alternative within the menu (with good options!), the kitchen preferred to try to disguise and fool the customer, making a bean without taste/grace, serving it like it was the feijoada. Not worth the amount paid! We were surprised because, definitely, this experience disappeared from every time we went there and appreciated a good feijoada, not to mention, of course, the super cozy and pleasant atmosphere of the guesthouse.

Hostel to keep in the heart

The Pousada Alcobaça is one of those we keep in our hearts. Surrounded by a blooming and charming garden, she already conquers her face. Breakfast is a delight, full of capricious quitutes, and lunch and dinner are also not left behind — all very tasty. The service is super gentle, from those that make us feel at home, with a special touch of the affection of Guilherme and Laura, which make the stay even more welcoming.

It deserved an excellent for the location, but the owner himself does not seem to want such an assessment.

The place deserved an EXCELLENT review, but I will explain why reasonable (I am being benevolent)! The house is beautiful (especially for those who like classic buildings that try to keep the originality), the garden is very beautiful (although it needs a reassessment and landscaping). The tennis court is down... holes, shit everywhere... zero maintenance. The restaurant, which keeps its original menu of homemade meals, has an OK, correct service, with limited options but very well done. The food is homemade and tasty (I don’t think it’s worth the price, but ok). The breakfast, different from the restaurant has an excellent service (in the days we stayed were different staff at the coffee and dinner) and good options also aimed at the "home". Now the real reason for the "reasonable" is the INCREDITABLE attention provided by (I think that owner of the place), Mr. Guilherme. It seems to be a matter of being superb and antipathetic, contrasting with other employees who received us very well. The following week we stayed in another hostel (Espatodea) which showed us even more how screaming was the difference of reception, education and cordiality.

Excellent visit!

Unforgettable morning coffee.
Although not staying in the Pousada, we came to the breakfast that I already knew for a long time. It's still wonderful. Farto, everything fresh and done on time. Beautiful and cosy place. Pousada linda. Excellent service.
