Passing through but hungry

Had to google if there was a pub as drove down Main Street and didn’t see one
The staff where welcoming , nice and very helpful
Food was nice fresh basic fare
The venue though old was well kept clean and organised
Popular with locals

Royal Hotel Moree!! Amazing food!!

We arrived in Moree on Friday 25th April and went to the Royal Hotel for dinner, due to it being pretty much the only place open on Anzac Day night.
What a delight the food was, it was amazing.
My wife had the slow cooked lamb shoulder
And I had the satay beef skewers.
Both meals were just simply amazing.
On the Saturday night we decided to go back again and this time my wife had crumbed lamb cutlets and I had the Scotch fillet.
Both lamb cutlets and scotch fillet just melted in your mouth.
We will go back again when we are in Moree and do recommend it to everyone travelling through Moree

moree avoid staying in this town, high risk of crime, not safe.

when one is given a briefing re high security measures , one has to ask themselves why have i decided to stay in moree, expensive motel type rooms or very basic cheap rooms, very strict on requesting personal information before accepting one to stay, priding themselves on how much money spent on security measures.

Good Pub Dinner

Spent 2 nights in Moree on a 6 week driving trip through Australia. Decided to give the Royal Hotel restaurant a try based on the recommendations of a couple of the locals. Glad we went. Not knowing what to fully expect from a pub restaurant, we went with our expectations somewhat lowered. We were pleasantly surprised. Had the calamari for the appetizer and shared the grilled chicken with mashed potatoes and salad. The chicken was very moist and cooked perfectly. The garlic butter sauce that went with the chicken was really tasty also. Beer was cold and the bartenders and kitchen staff (when picking up the food) were very polite and accommodating. Please give this spot a try if you are ever passing through Moree.

Interesting staff

Well have been complete my to the Royal for many years whilst travelling through , it seems it’s changed hands and not for the better, the local staff member yesterday was really helpful , the foreign staff members were downright not very hospitable, would look
At you waiting fir a beer and just walk
Away, there beer pouring skills reminded me of us kids growing up pouring at a keg show , I nicknamed one staff member Mr Whippy
One bar member would talk and the other 2 just looked at you like you were a problem
It was a very bizarre afternoon with the locals , I do hope the new management get to see what is going on here before there business falls apart can’t comment on the meals but I reckon it would be like Faulty Towers if the beer serving circus is any indication
I really hope things get better as I understand the same owner now owns all the hotels in Moree
