Good for a stay in the rainforest. Pretty much at the end of the line before the 4wd dirt track . Had a Casowary outside our unit and a big croc on the beach . Unit was basic but adequate. The property has a reasonably priced bar and restaurant right on the beach . I would recommend staying here.

Functional

It is quite hard to do an even handed review of Cape Tribulation Guest House. On the one hand, it is a very difficult place to maintain a hospitality business. On the other, in absolute terms, it is a little bit functional for tourist accommodation. It feels a bit more like staying at a summer cabin.
On the plus side, it has lovely ambiance, there is plenty of parking, and it is right next to a restaurant which serves all three meals. The rooms were reasonably spacious and the showers were perfectly decent. There is a beach, but for walking only - not swimming (because of the crocodiles).
On the negative side, there was a slightly damp mustiness to the place (which I suppose should be expected in a rainforest), the beds were not the comfiest I have ever slept in, and there is zero WiFi or cell phone service.
As a place where I have stayed it is almost unique in that I am not sure I ever saw any staff. If you arrive after 4pm you collect an envelope with your name on it from reception (which is closed), which contains the key to your cabin. If you leave before eight the next morning, you drop off your key the same way.
Ultimately, if you are travelling in the Daintree it probably gives you what you need to explore this part of the world. But it is important to manage your expectations - the level of service is reflective of the relative isolation of this part of the cape.

Exactly as pictures, great vibe and stunning location.

So glad I booked here for this unique part of the world. We stayed in an Endeavour cabin and it was as pictures showed. The low tide in the afternoon meant we could walk along beach to Kulki lookout. And sunrise the next morning was beautiful even with cloud cover. We did go to edge of exit to beach at night and sky was amazing but didnt stay long as unsure of wildlife. Food and coffee was not as expensive as anticipated from remote location - $5.50 for large oat coffee is unheard of in the city. My only recommendation is to book table for dinner in advance. We were still accommodated at high benches and service was great.

Unique location, great for dinner

We went here for dinner and was amazed at the entire place and the atmosphere. For the first time I saw and experienced a fully equipped restaurant right in the rainforest. Next time, keen to check out the accomodation too.

Such an incredible experience. This is a very special place and a wonderful find. We just wish we'd stayed longer. Fabulous staff, great food, incredible location. Just a fabulous experience to be in the heart of the most extraordinary rainforest, off grid, with pure tranquility.
