Vintage

This is a cosy hotel in a converted farmhouse on the banks of the Elbe.
Very spacious and clean rooms that are decorated vintage style. Just a pity there is no fridge in the room.
The staff are all extremely friendly and helpful.

Beautiful outdoor restaurant

We were there when the weather was good. We had some drink and snacks. The garden is beautiful. You can walk to the Elbe river bank. There is a beautiful scenery. The staff was very friendly. We did not stay at the hotel.

Excellent hotel on banks of the Elbe

Stayed in this hotel whilst attending a sporting event, situated in the countryside on the banks of the Elbe only a short drive from Riesa. My bedroom was a good size, both bedroom and bathroom very clean. The staff were very welcoming and helpful. Breakfast was nice (typical German rolls, meats, jams etc). The whole are is very peaceful with lovely walks or cycle routes. Highly recommended

Centre for Everything - Hotel by the River Elbe

My stop here was a gamble, with no Tripadvisor comments, as a central place between Dresden & Leipzig.
It more than met needs. The hotel is very welcoming & on the main cycle way 3km from Riesa at Moritz. It is literally metres from the Elbe, surrounded by fields, and close to a cycle path leading to other villages. Turn left & you hit a pub after 15 mins walk. Sitting outside in the hotel garden is a perfect antidote to busy city life.
Rooms are good sized with all facilities (Inc free wifi). Maybe lacking a bit in design in places but good all the same. It is also excellent value.
Location is excellent & central. Although housed in the sticks close to nowhere, you actually have access to everywhere. By turning right out of the hotel & going to the main road (2km), you have a rail station with free parking & 45 min trains to Dresden & Leipzig, and a road which goes 24kn to Meissen. There are also lots of castles within easy distance. Hence it's easy travel when you are here.
All in all an excellent stay. I would recommend as a base to anyone touring the area who likes idyllic settings. My main regret is not staying longer at the hotel to see more of the area.
